Qismat (transl. Fate) may be a 2018 Indian Punjabi-language romantic drama film written and directed by Jagdeep Sidhu. Produced by Shri Narotam Ji Productions, the film stars Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta with Guggu Gill, Tania and Harby Sangha in supporting roles. It was titled when a 2017 song of identical name, sung by Virk and stellar Mehta in its music video. The film follows a man who falls in love whilst studying in Chandigarh, despite his marriage being arranged to another woman.
Principal photography befell at intervals one schedule that lasted forty five days in Chandigarh and different villages of Punjab, India, with Jalesh Oberoi serving as photographer. The soundtrack was composed by B Praak and Sukh-E, with vocals from Ammy Virk, Gurnam Bhullar, Kamal Khan, Divya Bhatt, Neetu Bhalla and B Praak.
Qismat was released worldwide on 21 September 2018. The film attracted positive reviews from critics, with some light it as Virk's best performance at the time. Commercially, the film is blockbuster and had grossed ₹30 crore in its theatrical run. Also, the film is sixth highest grossing Punjabi film of all time and second highest grossing Punjabi film of 2018.
At Brit Asia TV Awards the film has received 15 nominations including Best Film, Best Actor(Virk), Best Actress(Mehta) and Best Director(Sidhu). At PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2019 film won four awards together with Best Film (critics), Best player, Best Debut Director, and Best Playback Singer from 10 nominations.
·        Plot
The film starts in an exceedingly wedding wherever Shivjit is asking his folks to send him Chandigarh when failing doubly in B.A. and promised he will pass the exams if they would send him. Hence, he visited Chandigarh wherever rather than learning started blushful on each lady.
There he met Bani, who is a modern girl in his neighbor and he started blushing on her but later learns that she is cheated by her old boyfriend who was also in relation with other girl. Bani set to form him her lover to form her ex feel jealous and that they succeed however whereas this they fall infatuated with one another.
After positive reply from the bride, Shivjit mirthfully plans regarding marrying Bani no matter happens, he hires a automobile & band to propose her at the hospital itself. But as he reaches the hospital, Bani is gave up the ghost & he becomes depressed as a results of this. The ending shows Shivjit mourning with Bani's family.

A single titled Qismat was discharged by Ammy Virk stellar Sargun Mehta that got vast success and was one amongst the foremost fortunate hits of Ammy Virk.[1] In AN interview with PTC Punjabi Ammy and Sargun disclosed that they each signed the film simply few days when the discharge of song and solely film signed by Sargun emotional in 2018. Her last film Lahoriye was released 16 months ago from Qismat.[2] When Jagdeep Sidhu was asked would their be any similarity between film and song, he denied by saying that genre of song was unhappy whereas film is romedy.[3] The film was written by Jagdeep Sidhu even before the release of song Qismat but was untitled yet. Also, the film was written for screenland however was rejected and somebody asked Sidhu to form the film in Punjabi. After the film was signed producers suggested Sidhu to direct the film by himself only.[4] After the success of song, Virk and Mehta were the first choice for the film. So, due to similarity in characters and crew of film and song, the film was titled as Qismat. There were conjointly some shooting locations in Chandigarh similar in song and film.

Qimsat had grossed ₹18.5 crore in India and ₹11.5 crore in other territories,[24] for a worldwide total ₹30 crore. It became sixth highest grossing Punjabi film of all time, as well as second highest grossing Punjabi film of 2018,[25][26] second highest-grossing film for Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta after their debut Angrej released in 2015.

At Brit Asia TV Awards the film has received 15 nominations including Best Film, Best Actor(Virk), Best Actress(Mehta) and Best Director(Sidhu).[47] At PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2019 film received 10 nominations including Best Actress, and Best Director[48] and won most awards (4) with Carry On Jatta 2, Laung Laachi, and Sajjan Singh Rangroot in the ceremony. The film won "Best Film 'Critics'", "Best Actress", "Best Debut Director", and "Best Playback Singer (male)" awards
